About This Site and Who Does the Work
This page tells you who runs this website, who does the work in your home, and how to check them yourself. You shouldn’t have to take our word for any of it.
Plano Water Damage Restoration is a referral service. When you call, we connect you with an independent local restoration company. We don’t do the work ourselves.

Who runs this website?
This website is owned and run by [OPERATOR_LLC]. [OPERATOR_LLC] writes and maintains the guides, pays for the phone line and keeps the site online.
[OPERATOR_LLC] does not do restoration work in your home. It doesn’t send crews, write estimates or bill you for repairs.
How this site works
When you call us, a call partner routes your call to a participating independent restoration company that serves your area. That company answers, sends its own technician, writes your estimate and does the work.
When you send the contact form, a participating local restoration company may call or text you about your request.
Your contract is with that company, not with [OPERATOR_LLC]. The company is independent. This site doesn’t own, manage or supervise it.
Companies may pay for the calls and requests they receive through this site. You don’t pay anything to use this site or the phone line.
We can’t promise which company you’ll reach. We also can’t vouch for any company’s work, so check them yourself using the list below.
You’re never obligated to hire anyone. You can get other estimates and choose any company you like.
Who does the work, and how to check their credentials
The company you’re connected with does the work. Before anyone starts, ask for each of these and check it yourself. Each one has a public lookup.
- IICRC Certified Firm: ask whether the firm is IICRC certified. Look it up on the IICRC Global Locator. The IICRC also verifies firms by phone at 844-464-4272 (IICRC Certified Firm Verification page).
- TDLR mold remediation license: if mold is involved, ask for the license number. Search it on TDLR’s license search. The search shows active licenses only (TDLR).
- Licensed plumber: pipe repair in Texas needs a plumber licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (Occupations Code ch. 1301). Ask for the plumber’s license number and check it through the TSBPE consumer information page. Master Plumber license numbers start with the letter “M” (TSBPE).
- City of Plano contractor registration: Plano requires contractors to register before working in the city. Registrations can be checked in eTrakit, linked from the City’s Building Inspections page.
- Insurance: ask for a certificate of insurance before work starts.
This site has no restoration crew, so we don’t post photos of “our team.”

Who reviews our guides
Each guide on this site shows who reviewed it and when.
- Reviewer: [REVIEWER_NAME]
- Credentials: [REVIEWER_CREDENTIALS]
Useful reviewer credentials come from the IICRC. Common ones are WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician), ASD (Applied Structural Drying) and AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician). WRT is the entry-level water damage course and comes before ASD. You can ask for a reviewer’s certificate number and check it with the IICRC.
How we write and check our content
Our guides answer the questions Plano homeowners ask after a leak, in plain language. Here is how each page is made:
- Sources first. Every number, price, law or local fact comes from a named source. We cite it in the sentence, such as “(Texas Insurance Code §542.055)” or “(HomeAdvisor, 2025)”.
- Fact-checked. A second person checks each claim against its source before the page goes live. Claims we can’t confirm are removed.
- Reviewed by someone who knows the work. A credentialed reviewer reads each guide for accuracy.
- Dated. Each page shows a “last reviewed” date, [LAST_REVIEWED_DATE]. We recheck pages when laws, prices or City rules change.
- Drafting tools disclosed. Some drafts start with writing software. A person edits and fact-checks every page before it’s published.
Our guides explain how things usually work. They aren’t legal or insurance advice. Your policy and your adjuster decide what’s covered.
Found a mistake? Email [BUSINESS_EMAIL] and we’ll check it.

Standards a restoration company should follow
Good restoration companies follow the industry’s published procedures:
- ANSI/IICRC S500, the standard for water damage restoration. It covers homes, businesses and the belongings inside them.
- ANSI/IICRC S520, the standard for mold remediation. The current edition is the 2024 fourth edition (IICRC).
These standards are why a proper job includes moisture readings, drying records and clear rules for dirty water. What that looks like on a job: how we work.
What we won’t do
Some promises sound helpful but break Texas law. This site won’t make them, and you should be wary of any company that does:
- Negotiating your insurance claim. A contractor can’t act as a public adjuster on a home where it does the work (Texas Insurance Code §4102.163). A restoration company should document the damage and work with your adjuster.
- Waiving or absorbing your deductible. Texas law bars contractors from advertising that (Business & Commerce Code §27.02).
- Testing and removing mold on the same job. Texas bars one company from doing both on the same project (Occupations Code §1958.155), and TDLR rules require a licensed mold assessor to write the remediation plan (16 TAC Chapter 78). Ask for an independent licensed assessor.
- We won’t invent reviews. The FTC’s Consumer Reviews and Testimonials Rule took effect on October 21, 2024. It bans fake reviews and testimonials (FTC). We don’t post reviews of the companies callers reach, because we can’t know in advance which company that will be.
We also won’t rank Plano companies against each other. Companies may pay for calls through this site, so a “top companies” list from us wouldn’t be independent.
